Wichita should receive some welcome rain over the next couple of days, forecasters say.
Highs will be in the upper 40s, with south winds in the teens. Occasional gusts should top 20 miles an hour. A few thunderstorms – yes, in December – are possible tonight, forecasters say.
Temperatures are expected to stay pretty steady in the upper 40s overnight, and showers and thunderstorms are expected to persist on Wednesday. Highs could climb all the way to 60.
Cooler temperatures are anticipated behind the storm front on Thursday, when highs will only be in the mid-40s under mostly sunny skies.
