The final week of October begins with unseasonably warm temperatures – and hearty breezes to boot.
Highs should reach the low 80s in the Wichita area today under sunny skies, forecasters say, with south winds gaining strength throughout the day. Early breezes in the single digits will climb into the mid-20s, with gusts topping 35 miles an hour.
Overnight lows will be in the low 60s, and Tuesday should see a few clouds and highs in the upper 70s.
But a cool front is expected to reach the area late Tuesday, bringing a chance of showers and much cooler temperatures, forecasters say. Highs on Wednesday could be 25 degrees lower than the day before.
