Wichita will be treated to a pleasant summer day today, with mostly sunny skies, light winds and highs in the upper 80s.
The north winds in the single digits will feel practically non-existent compared to the robust breezes of the past several days, forecasters say. Those winds will shift to the southeast late in the day.
A chance of showers arrives tonight, and forecasters say chances will persist through Saturday. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s, and highs on Friday will be in the low 90s under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will touch double digits and persist out of the southeast.
Highs will stay in the low 90s on Saturday, then surge near 100 by Sunday.
