It’s been remarkably cool in the Nevada desert so far this late spring. Meanwhile, Wichita recorded its earliest 100-degree day on record – May 9 – and its earliest six-day stretch of triple digit temperatures: June 3-8.
Wichita faces another 100-degree day today, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The temperature is projected to reach 102 today, and forecasters say isolated thunderstorms are possible after 3 p.m. Winds will be out of the south in the upper teens and low 20s, with gusts of more than 30 miles an hour.
Lows tonight will be about 70 under partly cloudy skies. Tuesday will be markedly cooler under sunny skies, with highs in the upper 80s.
