Wichita weather: Patchy morning frost, then sunny and warmer

Another bout of patchy frost is expected to linger in the Wichita area until mid-morning, forecasters say, before a pleasant spring day unfolds.

Highs should reach the upper 60s under mostly sunny skies, with light northwest winds staying in the single digits. Overnight lows will dip only into the low 40s, sparing tomatoes and other vulnerable plants another bout with frost.

Wednesday looks warmer and windier, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-70s and southerly breezes gusting to more than 30 miles an hour.
