Ragene Moore sent me these images of snow falling in her neighborhood last weekend – when a trace of snow fell both Saturday and Sunday.

Officially, Wichita has recorded 17.3 inches of snow this winter, which is slightly above the 30-year average. But snow in April is hardly unheard of around here, said National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Caruso.
The good news for those who have had their fill of flurries is that the weather pattern isn’t conducive to bringing measurable snow to the region over the next several days — which takes us that much closer to the time Old Man Winter departs for good.
Until late this year, of course.
Rain is possible in portions of the Wichita metropolitan area this morning, forecasters say. Cloudy skies should persist throughout the day as highs climb to about 60.
It’ll be a windy day, with south winds in the teens shifting to the north-northwest and strengthening to gusts near 30 miles an hour. Overnight lows are expected to bottom out in the low 40s as winds become calm, forecasters say.
Friday should signal the start of a warm, pleasant weekend, with sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s. Saturday will offer more of the same, and Sunday should hit the low 80s.
