Dense fog is hampering the morning commute in the Wichita area, forecasters say, and it is expected to persist much of the morning.
A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. for 22 counties in southern and central Kansas, including the Wichita metropolitan area. Visibility will be less than a quarter-mile at times, according to the National Weather Service.
Once the fog burns off, the day should be mostly cloudy with highs climbing into the upper 60s. South winds will strengthen as the day stretches out, reaching the upper teens steadily and gusts into the mid-20s.
Overnight lows will only drop to the low 50s, and then Thursday could see highs in the mid-70s under mostly sunny skies and breezy conditions. Spring fever, anyone?
