Wichita weather: A sunny, warm Friday

After the chilly rain and dancing snow flurries – and frozen fog that glazed the Thursday morning commute with black ice – today will feel much warmer for the Wichita area.

Highs could touch 60 in the metro area, forecasters say, with sunny skies and gusty south winds behaving more like it’s April than November. Those breezes will be steady in the teens, with gusts of more than 25 miles an hour.

Lows are expected to bottom out in the mid-30s tonight. The weekend should be dry and warm, forecasters say, with highs of about 60 on Saturday and nearly 70 on Sunday.
