Another warm, windy day is in store for parched Wichita – bad news for firefighters and those wanting a crisper autumn.
Highs should reach the low 70s under sunny skies, forecasters say, with south winds intensifying from the teens early in the day to the upper 20 later on. Gusts could near 40 miles an hour at times.
Overnight lows will be in the mid 40s, forecasters say, and winds will remain robust. Breezes will be steady in the teens, with gusts into the mid-20s.
Wednesday will bring clouds and cooler temperatures, forecasters say – but no rain. Highs should top out in the low 60s, with winds mercifully easing as the day stretches out.
