A freeze warning is in effect until 9 a.m. for Wichita and all of the 26 counties in the southeast quarter of Kansas that make up the forecast zone for the Wichita branch of the National Weather Service.
Temperatures will be in the 20s throughout the region, before abundant sunshine allows readings to rebound into the mid- to upper 50s by late in the afternoon. North winds will be light, staying in the single digits, forecasters say.
Tonight’s low could dip below freezing again in Wichita, forecasters say, before the weekend brings a distinct warmup. Highs should reach the upper 60s on Saturday and the low 70s on Sunday.
