Those overnight thunderstorms predicted for the Wichita area developed farther west instead – but Wichita can expect showers perhaps this morning and again this afternoon.
Only .01 of rain had fallen as of sunrise today in Wichita, but other parts of the state received more than a half-inch of rain. Cloudy skies will dominate the day in the metropolitan area, with highs in the upper 60s.
Winds will be variable today, starting out from the south this morning and shifting to the north later today. Speeds should be in the teens, with gusts to more than 25 miles an hour.
