If you didn’t have spring fever already….

…..this week will make it virtually unavoidable for residents of the Sunflower state.

Sunny skies and the warmest temperatures of the year are expected throughout most of Kansas, with highs surging from the upper 60s today to the mid-to upper 80s by the middle of the week.

The week will be breezy, too, with winds regularly in the teens and gusts commonly topping 25 miles an hour. That’s hardly unusual as spring-like weather patterns arrive, since the winds are designed to level out the temperature and barometric pressure shifts occurring in the atmosphere.

With warm, moist air barging into the Great Plains like this, it won’t be long before thunderstorms enter the picture – and, sure enough, strong thunderstorms are expected by late in the week. Stay tuned to the forecasts for Friday and Easter weekend.
