A windy Monday for much of Kansas – including Wichita

Strong northerly winds will buffet much of Kansas today, forecasters say. Those winds will be so robust, in fact, that the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for more than 40 counties from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

Highs around Wichita should reach the low to mid-40s under sunny skies. Winds will blow steadily between the mid-20s and low 30s, with gusts to nearly 45 miles an hour.

The winds should ease after sunset, when lows will dip to the low 20s. Tuesday should see more sunshine, forecasters say, with highs in the low 40s and light northwest winds.
