It feels much more like winter than spring on the first Monday of April in Wichita.
The wind chill is in the teens and the record for low temperature could fall tonight as cold weather refuses to release the region just yet. High temperatures today are expected to reach only into the low 40s in the metropolitan area, with strong winds out of the northwest gusting to more than 40 miles an hour.
The low could dip into the teens tonight, forecasters say. That would break the record for low temperature on April 7 in Wichita, which is 23 in 2007.
The rest of the week should be much warmer, with highs in the 60s.
