No tornadoes, but plenty of wind and hail

November gave us a spirited imitation of spring last night, with lines of storms that would have made April proud. There were more than a half-dozen reports of hail – including stones 1.75 inches in diameter in Sedan in southeast Kansas shortly after 5 p.m. – and numerous reports of strong winds, including some reaching 60 miles an hour.

Fortunately, no tornadoes were reported. Not in Kansas – or anywhere else in the country, for that matter.

Consider it Second Season’s grand finale, because weather patterns are shifting toward something we’d expect to see with Thanksgiving looming on the horizon.
