A sobering 69 people have been killed by tornadoes through March 15. That’s the second-highest total through mid-March since 1971, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center. Considering that a tornado somehow hopped over Nashville in February and that no one died when an EF2 tornado ripped through the heart of Atlanta Friday night, that total could easily have been much, much higher.
