Bad news

As the diehards already know, team captain Mike Batovanja is out for the season with a torn ACL.

New D man: In serious need of help on the blueline, the Thunder added Bryan Nathe, who has played four years in the ECHL. “He brings some experience,” coach Brent Bilodeau said. “He’ll give us someone solid back there.

Roster update: Tyler Dittmer has left the team to go to school, Bilodeau said. Jordan Hack and Pascal Bedard are awaiting immigration approval. Barry Horman, one of the replacement players who saw action in the season opener, has been signed by the Thunder. However, he is on injured reserve with a groin injury.

Saturday night leftovers: The Thunder was zero for nine on the power play in the loss to Oklahoma City on Saturday. “We’ve got to shoot the puck more and get more traffic in front,” Bilodeau said. “To get that, you have to pay the price, and we weren’t willing to do that.”

On the Thunder’s quick 1-0 lead on Scott Rozendal’s goal, Bilodeau said, “We scored one goal. Big deal. We have to keep the tempo up.”
