Fletch gets it. I have been to media day and most of those coaches get up there and try to turn it into Big XII media day.

This is the Jayhawk Conference. It might be high-quality junior college basketball, but it does not have the same following or get the same run as Division I hoops.

Fletch understands this point. He takes the podium, speaks his mind and enjoys himself. All coaches should follow his lead. It would not only be more entertaining but also more news-worthy and I know the Eagle likes things to be news worthy.

Thanks for the comment, and I’ll be dropping an extensive Jayhawk Media Day recap sometime tonight/tomorrow morning … lots of goings on at the Best Western this morning that deserve to see the light of day.

As far as Bon Jovi … I’m already sick of camping out, but I’ll do anything for love.

FYI GardenVarietyMike,

I’ve been showing FHSU love all season, even before the season! Remember that hard-hitting Mike Garrison Q&A from the summer?

And as far as what kind of a reporter wakes up at 7 a.m. a week early for a “simple” presser? That would be me. I’m just excited for basketball season, that’s all.
