Verdugo will be gone after this year…that is why most of his assistants left the staff! I don’t know what is so hard about understanding that Kansas does produce athletes that can make the grades and that have a work ethic!

Good call, outwest. But Verdugo doesn’t seem to understand there are towns west of Hays in Kansas that actually have some really, really good talent from smaller schools, like Oakley and St. Francis for instance.

If Fort Hays would go back to recruiting Kansas kids as they did under Cortese, maybe they would be a contender in the MIAA.

That’s right. keeping Rockhurst out and any college that doesn’t have football is the way to go. So, with that said, it’s best for Newman to not join. As much as I like Vic Trilli, the Jets AD, and his ‘go after it mentality,’ the fact of the matter is Newman just can’t compete with MIAA schools in athletics. Not right now at least, or maybe ever. Take a look at Fort Hays for example.
