If you’re reading this, look straight up and you’ll see what I’m talking about … yessir, Sunflower Slate officially has a new look. Not that I didn’t love my old gold and black banner … but thanks to Heidi Marcinik for designing the new flag. I feel like I just moved into a new apartment or something … simple pleasures, right? The new banner is pretty sweet.
Now I’ve got some Jayhawk thoughts, so keep reading:
So I was sleeping on this … the same two teams are leading both the Jayhawk East and West in both the men’s and women’s standings. In the West, it’s Barton. In the East, it’s Coffeyville. The Barton men are ranked No. 11 and have the most commanding lead of the four teams, and the women are ranked No. 16 and tied with Hutch for first. In the east, the Red Ravens aren’t ranked on the men’s side but have a two-game lead on Cowley, which is No. 18. That’s that … new math I guess. On the women’s side, CCC is ranked No. 19 and tied with Labette for first. There’s not a better interview in the Jayhawk conference, maybe in all the state, then Barton men’s coach Craig Fletchall, who I’ve written about A LOT, including this mention about his new job as AD at Barton. And on that note, Jeff Lutz will be in El Dorado on Saturday night to cover the Butler-Barton games. So there’s that.
That’s all I’ve got.
