The answer to this post is just … I really don’t know.
Somehow Friends pulled off an incredible, 46-45 win over Ottawa last night at Austin-Adair Stadium.
Friends quarterback Alex Melugin bobbled the snap on what would have been the game-tying extra point, a la Tony Romo two years ago in the playoffs, and flipped a desperation pass into the end zone that tight end Chris Flanagan came down with for the W. Eagle correspondent Taylor Eldridge was covering the game and said Melugin kept referencing Romo in his post-game interview, basically that he
didn’t want to have the same fate.
So KCAC fans, what does this mean in the long run? Well, first, it means the Falcons aren’t invincible. They can be beat — not to say they will — but it could happen if Ottawa can push them like this at home. Bethany plays at Friends this Saturday and the Falcons should win that game handily.
I’m out.

Tony:
Great job of covering all levels of sport in the state. Thanks for taking the time to let everyone know about the small colleges in the state.
Just waiting for “bendover” to come on this page and continue the mass campaign of being critical toward just about everything sports related.
Evidently, getting an education is not nearly as important playing Division I sports in “bendover’s” world. There are plenty of young men and women who just want to keep playing beyond high school.
Another thing I will comment on…Why is playing professionally the litmus test for proving one’s existence or relevance? I would like to know what Division I team and what professional team Mr. Dover has played for.
Keep up the great work, Tony! I think this blog was an outstanding idea.

Hey Dumbocrawdaddy;
“…young men and woman who just want to keep on playing…”. What level of sport is this? Is this like slow pitch softball compared to the major leagues? Hey I know, I want to be a cowboy so I “just want to keep on playing”!
OR MAYBE I COULD JUST GROW UP AND BE AN ADULT!
Face facts, these games are like the little league. They are a very low level. The players and the fans just need to grow up and be adults.
Also, I like sports, but at a level worth watching. Not just people that “want to keep on playing”.

Ben,
You didn’t answer the questions I left you last week. Why so evasive?
Where did you play in college? What professional team did you play for?
Or, would it be easier to ask you why you didn’t play in high school? Your daddy couldn’t pull any strings for you? Did you sleep in during tryouts?
Stop being a hater and grow up. Go play cowboy somewhere else than the Sunflower Slate.
This is a great service being provided by Tony Adame and the Wichita Eagle. I hope you figure it out soon.
