Butler wins 30-14 at AFP

This just in, with stats compliments of Butler assistant A.D. Matt Jacobs.

Looks like the Grizzlies struggled early but pulled it out. Weird they played on a Friday.

Sixth-ranked Butler scored 21 points in the third quarter after trailing 8-6 at halftime for a 30-14 nonconference win over Air Force Prep in Colorado Springs on Friday. Quarterback Press Taylor threw his first two interceptions of the season for Butler (3-1 overall, 2-0 Jayhawk) in the first half. The Grizzlies bounced back from their halftime deficit with a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs by Tony Williams in the third quarter, the second coming after a 98-yard drive from the Grizzlies.

Butler beat who? Players at Air Force that cannot make a varsity team without scholarship players. Who really cares?

Two things…Air Force Prep always plays their home games on Friday so they don’t conflict with the AF games on Saturday. They’ve been doing that for years. Air Force Prep’s football program is a one year program for athletes trying to get their grades up…and their maturity level…to get into the Academy…A lot of players have gone on to play for the Academy’s varsity team (and other schools as well). Once again Ben…The joke’s on you.

Air Firce Prep is a one year juco. Are the other schools the players have gone on to play for two year Jucos? Name the D1 schools(oher than AF) anyone on Air Force Prep has ever gone on to play for? The answer is ZERO!

bendover — Air Force Prep is not a one-year juco. Did you not read the previous post from TEN41767? It’s a squad made up of all freshman players – a JV squad for Air Force essentially. These players are there for the sole purpose of joining the Academy and defending our freedom, but obviously these guys still wanted to continue playing football. Some of these players do make the Air Force varsity squad. These guys might not have the god-given athletic ability you wish to read about.

On that note, Butler has no control over scheduling AFP. The Jayhawk Conference made it mandatory for the eight KJCCC schools to play AFP as part of the schedule. AFP does not always play their home games on Friday. Butler played them out in Colorado Springs last year on a Saturday. However, Air Force was hosting Utah at the big stadium on Saturday that weekend, so the AFP-Butler game was scheduled for Friday.

Secondly, if you get sick and tired of hearing about the news on this blog, why are you wasting your time reading it. Some people care about Butler football and the junior college football ranks — like approximately 13,000 people that attended Butler’s opener against Blinn. 13,000…. Think about it. That’s slightly more than a full capacity crowd at Koch Arena for a WSU basketball game. If you don’t like reading about it, no one is making you. I suggest you go somewhere else.
