N.C. Central at No. 11 Wichita State

The Eagles are on their way. As of 10 a.m., most of the North Carolina Central coaches and players were either close to landing or within 90 minutes of Wichita. The team spent five hours in the Atlanta airport on Saturday while weather cancelled flights.

  • Wichita State has added Sky Williams, a 6-foot-2 guard, as a walk-on practice player. Williams, from Tuckahoe (N.Y.) High, is not eligible to play in games, WSU coach Gregg Marshall said. “With so many guys banged up, we needed a body,” Marshall said. Williams, previously a student at WSU, is roommates with several Shockers and played pickup games with the team.
  • All the Shockers went through Sunday’s shoot-around. Of the group notably fighting injuries, center Kadeem Coleby looks the most affected by a sore big toe on his right foot.
