- Bradley’s defense is leading a turnaround in Peoria after a historically bad 2011-12. Three-point shooting makes Early a pick-your-poison player for defenses.
- Remember when Gregg Marshall pleaded for fan support? Bradley’s Geno Ford can do the same for today’s game.
- Every season we say “Wow, what a wacky start to the MVC schedule.” Here we go again. Saturday brought another round of surprises. Illinois State, picked second in many previews, is 0-3 in the MVC. Its MVC title hopes are sunk. Its NCAA at-large hopes are fading badly. With two home MVC losses, the Redbirds are already fighting from way behind. Missouri State, on the other hand, is 2-1 in the MVC after not defeating an NCAA Division I school in non-conference play. It won at Drake, dropping the Bulldogs to 0-3.
- Replacing Creighton is a big topic of speculation and conversation. Should the Bluejays exit the MVC, part of the answer resides in Peoria. Bradley is capable of more than it’s giving the MVC. I’ve heard many good things about coach Geno Ford’s abilities. Some time soon, the MVC may need Bradley to shake off its recent mediocrity.
