- Iowa has held all five opponents under 40-percent shooting. The Hawkeyes are allowing 52.6 points a game, down from 72.5 last season.
- WSU is 5-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 season. Iowa is 5-0 for the first time since 2008-09.
- WSU is shooting 26.6 percent from three (25-94). Iowa showed zone last night against Western Kentucky. Tonight may be the night Nick Wiggins gets a chance to influence a game. He hasn’t played much and is 1 of 4 from three. He can shoot and the Shockers might need him tonight. Jake White, who played 17 solid minutes Tuesday, is another shooter who might be useful stretching that zone.
- Iowa coach Fran McCaffery faced WSU when he coached at Siena. The Shockers, in coach Gregg Marshall’s second season, defeated Siena 72-70 in the 2008 Old Spice Classic in Florida. The Saints advanced to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 9 seed, where they defeated Ohio State before losing to top-seeded Louisville.
