Wichita State – Tough on the rebound

WSU’s David Kyles celebrates after the Shockers took a 41-20 halftime lead over Utah State last season. Kyles made six three-pointers in the first half.

BracketBusters weekend is a struggle for Wichita State, which is 3-6 in those matchups. The mandated return game goes much better. WSU is 7-0 in the rematches entering Tuesday’s game at Virginia Commonwealth.

Of those seven wins, only beating George Mason in 2006 made much of an impact. Winning at George Mason helped the Shockers enter the top 25. Tuesday’s game at VCU, an even more imposing task than playing the Patriots after their Final Four run, could add to that list.
