- MVC schedules are close to final. I would expect to see them soon, perhaps today. That doesn’t mean WSU’s comes out today, but I think schools will start releasing them. Here is WSU’s non-conference schedule:
Nov. 10 — North Carolina-Central
Nov. 13 — at Virginia Commonwealth
Nov. 15 — Western Carolina
Nov. 17 — Howard
Nov. 20 — DePaul at Cancun, Mexico
Nov. 21 — Iowa or Western Kentucky at Cancun, Mexico
Nov. 28 — Tulsa
Dec. 2 — at Air Force
Dec. 8 — Northern Colorado
Dec. 13 — at Tennessee
Dec. 20 — Charleston Southern
Dec. 22 — Southern Mississippi at Intrust Bank Arena
Feb. 22-23 – BracketBusters
- My money is on Creighton or Bradley to release their schedule first.
- Black uniforms are back for the 2012-13 season. The Shockers will wear white, black and gray with the same design as last season.
- If you go to the volleyball matches this weekend, you will notice a new look in the Koch Arena rafters. The collages that highlighted WSU’s history are down. WSU needed space for championship banners. There is no plan to remake or down-size the collages.
- Evansville added a 6-foot-10 center from Lithuania at the start of school, Egidijus Mockevicius. The Aces are a team with several good guards and wings, most notably All-MVC forward Colt Ryan. Lack of size is a major issue. If Mockevicius, 20, can improve Evansville’s defense and rebounding, the Aces could move out of the middle of the pack in the MVC.
