Wichita State at No. 17 Creighton

WSU 89, CU 68 – final

WSU 87, CU 68 (1:03) - Never saw this coming. Shockers are making the Jays look bad. Marshall clearing the bench.

WSU 72, CU 55 (7:51) - Williams at the foul line.

WSU 68, CU 51 (10:50) - Ragland slicing up the CU defense. They can’t stay in front of him. Crowd working against the Jays. Every miss draws a groan. Pressure grows on home team.

WSU 61, CU 45 (14:24) - Foul trouble could be an issue for WSU. Hall and Stutz with three. Jake White will get a chance.

WSU 49, CU 36 – halftime.  Jays can’t guard the Shockers. We will see if that changes in the second half. Creighton will make a run, that’s for sure. Ben Smith leads WSU with 15 points. Stutz and Murry with eight. McDermott, Echenique lead CU with nine.

WSU 46, CU 33 (1:04) - Superb defense by Murry, quick and long enough to help in the post and recover to both Jones’ three. CU can’t guard WSU at this point.

WSU 33, CU 28 (3:41) - WSU hit with a phantom whistle for a second straight game. WSU 4 of 7 from three. Outrebounding CU 15-10. Six turnovers are the main issue.

WSU 25, CU 23 (7:27) - Two fouls on Stutz. He showed more emotion than usual after the call. WSU missing a chance to hurt CU inside with Echenique on the bench. Wragge vs. Stutz should be a mismatch.

WSU 18, CU 13 (11:24) - WSU assistants screaming “Get the &$#@*# ball inside.” Now you know the plan. WSU 6-13 from the field after a 2-8 start. Jays 0-4 from three.

CU 8, WSU 4 (15:19) - Shockers struggling to score. Two straight turnovers. 2-8 from the field.

Go to ESPN3 if the New Mexico State game runs long. I’m told it’s running long.

Indiana State went 12 of 12 from three today, setting an NCAA record for most makes without a miss, in a 78-68 win over SIU. Jordan Printy made six of the threes.

“They probably couldn’t do that in practice,” SIU head coach Chris Lowery said. “That’s an incredible feat what they did.”
