CU 7, WSU 4 – top 9th. Green drives in a run, but the Shockers strand two.
CU 7, WSU 3 – top 7th. Dufek with 11 strikeouts.
CU 7, WSU 3 – Flynn out with one out in the fifth. He gave up two singles, two doubles and a home run in the inning.
WSU 3, CU 2 – top 5th. Green and Davidson drive in runs with two-out doubles.
CU 2, WSU 1 – Jays score following a leadoff walk.
WSU 1, CU 0 – top 4th. CU starter Jonas Dufek has seven strikeouts.
WSU 1, CU 0 – top 2nd. Coy drives in a run, scoring Hall, who doubled.
Tim Kelley update – He will try to play catch on May 18, before WSU leaves for Bradley. If that goes well, he will throw a bullpen over the weekend. Then he could be an option to come out of the bullpen, most likely, in the MVC Tournament. He tried to play catch before the SIU series and his elbow continued to bother him. So it appears iffy if Kelly will pitch again. At best, he will return in a limited role.
Dallas Baptist update – The Patriots won the second game of a series at Texas A&M on Friday. If they win the series, they move up in NCAA at-large consideration. DBU also owns wins over TCU and Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Adding DBU to the MVC as a baseball-only member looks like a solid move.
