All of Wichita State’s men’s basketball players are in town, including newcomers Ben Smith, Joe Ragland and Ehimen Orukpe. Garrett Stutz and Toure Murry are back from their Athletes in Action tour of Poland. New walk-ons Randall Vautravers and Josh Walker joined the group, except for Murry, for Tuesday’s pickup game in the Koch Arena practice gym.
I watched about 30 minutes, and will need to see more before building any impressions. P.J. and Jay Couisnard played with the Shockers on Tuesday.
The story is similar for the women’s team, although not all of the newcomers are in Wichita. Players on both teams will play pickup, work camps and take classes this summer.
