WSU scoring 76 points without going nuts from three-point range is an encouraging sign (even though Indiana State is one of the Valley’s weakest defensive teams). The Shockers committed only nine turnovers and made 23 of 30 free throws.
One indication WSU’s offense is working more smoothly is assists and turnovers. WSU has had more assists than turnovers in four of the past five games. In the previous 12, they did it five times. Included in that stretch are a season-low eight turnovers against Northern Iowa and nine against Indiana State. The Shockers aren’t great shooters, so maximizing possessions is crucial.
Ramon Clemente is 25 of 37 (67.6 percent) from the line since Indiana State challenged him late in the Feb. 4 game at Terre Haute.
