Creighton: Day after

Sunday’s game provided about what one should expect when the MVC favorite plays the team picked for ninth. WSU’s offensive problems continue to be frustrating. They are issues only time and recruiting will help. In balance, the Shockers took a very inexperienced bunch on the road for the first time in the MVC and didn’t fall apart. Baseball news

Second baseman Kyle Sisney recently quit the team, according to several sources. He is no longer listed on the roster on goshockers.com. Neither Sisney nor WSU coach Gene Stephenson have returned calls yet, so I don’t know Sisney’s plans. I would guess a junior college (or a lower-level four-year school) is a local destination, because he would have to sit out a year at another Division I school. Read More »

Johnny Coy update

Johnny Coy of St. Joseph (Mo.) will visit Wichita State for Monday’s basketball game against North Dakota. He is a two-sport athlete (also baseball) who attended Arizona State this fall. He is leaving ASU to transfer closer to home, largely because of his father’s health. Coy’s story is explained here in his hometown newspaper. Read More »
