Mark Turgeon sounds off

I’m late writing about this one, but maybe some people aren’t aware of the mess former WSU coach Mark Turgeon stirred up with his “I can’t win” comments in the last week or so. This is pretty simple. Mark may be right about coaching in the shadow of Billy Gillispie. Just don’t say it to anyone other than your wife and kids. They understand. The rest of the world does not want to hear it, and Mark probably realized that as soon as the words slipped out.

People often ask how I think Mark will do at A&M. I think he will do well. He’s a smart guy and a hard worker. Recruiting will be the big question, as any WSU fan can tell you. He brought in Scott Spinelli at WSU as a big-time recruiting fix. In my view, Spinelli did not quite fit in with the rest of the staff. Maybe it was just because he was the new guy. I will be interested to see if that marriage works in College Station.
