Bradley will be without starter Theron Wilson for Saturday’s game, according to the Peoria Journal-Star. Reserve Tyrone Cole-Scott is also out.
Both players, as well as starter Matt Salley, found trouble early Sunday morning. Bradley coach Jim Les did not start Wilson or Salley in Wednesday’s win over Illinois State. Both played _ Wilson 31 minutes and Salley 20. Cole-Scott did not. Les thought his punishment, which also included other measures, did the job. Others, including his school president, did not agree.
It appears the president won that power struggle. Predictably, some Bradley fans are blaming the media, which in this case is code for “We screwed up and we’re mad somebody noticed.”
Losing Wilson is a blow. He led the Braves with 20 points against Illinois State and 28 against Evansville. Of course, guard Daniel Ruffin is back and Bradley would make that trade every time.
