The goods - Ford Field, Davidson

- This is why Bill Self loves being a No. 1 seed - KU received the Detroit Lions’ locker room here at Ford Field. Wisconsin has the visitors’ locker room. Davidson and Villanova got hosed - they have smaller, almost auxiliary rooms. It happens.

- Davidson coach Bob McKillop is fired up. This isn’t your ordinary, run of the mill walk-through. He has the Wildcats working at a good pace, and he isn’t hesitating to rip into his players - even if it’s an open practice. “Get your butt down, Andre!” he screams. “Wake up!” he barks at another players. “Get a freakin’ ball, Ben! Smell the coffee!” he adds.

- Stephen Curry looks like he is 15 years old. I’m not kidding. As slight as appears on television, he’s even smaller in person. I think that must help when the opposition meets him for the first time. They can’t help but underestimate him. But I’ll say this - dude can shoot. I watched 25 minutes of open practice, and Curry jacked up numerous shots. I counted only six misses.

- There will be a mishap here at the Ford, and it will likely involve some high-priced court-side equipment. The court is elevated four feet here, and there is no physical barrier - as of now - between the court and media row. Also, the end of the court extends about four feet and then there is a drop-off. Can’t see that ending well if a player is going full-bore on a fast break and his momentum carries him off the court.

- Please tell me the guys in white tank tops without numbers on their back are student managers. They “ran” with the Wildcats, and they were awful. Just bad. It almost didn’t make sense for them to be out there.
