Lists, lists, lists

I’m doing the list thingon Wednesday’s blog for a while because, well, I like lists. And so do you, whether you admit it or not. Come on, admit it. You like lists. Right?

I’m normally a 1 through 10 guy when it comes to lists, but I’m condensing to 1 through 5 for the purposes of my blog. And because sometimes thinking of 10 things to list becomes burdensome.

You’re always welcome to share your lists in your comments on Facebook or Twitter. Or even here on the blog. I like reading lists almost as much as I like doing them.

So here goes:

Favorite Wichita restaurants

1. Longhorn Steak House

2. B.J.’s Brewhouse

3. Carrabba’s

4. DeFazio’s

5. Quincy’s

Comment: My wife will probably be shocked to see this list, seeing as how I hardly ever take her out to eat. But that’s going to change. We do often order carryout from the fine folks at Quincy’s, however. Because it’s nearby and the food is excellent. So a shout out to Quincy’s. Free round next time I’m in? Just kidding.

Favorite magazines

1. Entertainment Weekly

2. Rolling Stone

3. Sports Illustrated

4. Golf Magazine

5. Esquire

Comment: Honorable mention to TV Guide, a magazine that has been coming to my house for more than 50 years. My parents took TV Guide and I’ve taken it for as long as I remember. I go back to the smaller size TV Guide, in fact. Can you tell I feel terribly guilty leaving TV Guide off of my top five list? Because I do.

Favorite Wichita radio stations

1. 1240-AM, 98.7-FM KFH (you’re surprised?)

2. 103.7 KEYN

3. 104.5 the Fox (Jan and Phil)

4. 107.3 the Road

5. 105.3 the Buzz

Comment: Sorry, no country stations. I know how popular they are here but I’m comfortable in my outcast role.

Five favorite sports venues in which I’ve worked

1. Los Angeles Coliseum

2. Allen Fieldhouse

3. Madison Square Garden

4. Boston Garden

5. Cowboys Stadium

Comment: Some others that come to mind: Reliant Stadium, Houston; Alamodome, San Antonio; Staples Center, Los Angeles; United Center, Chicago; Memorial Stadium, Lincoln, Neb.; Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha; Koch Arena, Wichita; Rose Garden, Portland; Superdome, New Orleans; Verizon Center, Washington, D.C.; Greensboro Coliseum; Honda Center, Anaheim, Calif.; Cotton Bowl, Dallas.

Favorite movie actors

1. Jack Nicholson

2. Jeff Bridges

3. Tom Hanks

4. Kevin Costner

5. Robert Redford

Comment: I should have gone 10 deep here. How can I leave off Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Paul Newman, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey? Those would round out my top 10. So I figured out a way to go 10 deep. Good for me.

Favorite current cast members for Saturday Night Live

1. Keenan Thompson

2. Bobby Moynihan

3. Vanessa Bayer

4. Jay Pharoah

5. Cecily Strong

Comment: Thompson and Moynihan lead the pack far and away. They make me laugh out loud and laugh often.

Thanks, everyone. More lists next week. And if you have list requests, I’m all ears.
