The Kansas Jayhawks are ranked No. 2 in the country, have won a nation-leading 58 straight games at home and are set to honor all-time great point guard Sherron Collins on senior night.
With all that going for them, K-State sophomore forward Jamar Samuels was asked Tuesday evening what it would mean to him if the No. 5 Wildcats are able to win Wednesday at Allen Fieldhouse?
His answer was a bold one.
“We’ll go down in history, I think, as the best K-State team,” Samuels said. “Even if we don’t win a national championship we still have to go down as the best K-State team, because we beat KU at KU on their amazing streak. And they have a very good team this year.”
