Jacob Pullen, as you may have noticed, has been growing a beard all season.
It started as a personal superstition, but now that the junior guard is scoring more than 19 points per game and Kansas State is off to a 9-1 start, his teammates don’t want him to trim the facial hair. They don’t even want him to touch it.
For now, Pullen says he will honor their wishes, even though he sometimes thinks breaking out a razor wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.
Curtis Kelly “won’t let me,” Pullen said. “I was going to do it when I went home (for winter break) but he said if I came back without a beard he was going to put me in the trunk.”
