Hoops recruiting update: Marcus Foster, Jeff Caroll enjoy visits, Wesley Iwundu down to two, Jordan Mathews picks Cal

Marcus Foster and Jeff Carroll both took official visits to Kansas State over the weekend and had plenty of positive stories to tell about their trips when they got home.

The Dallas Mustangs teammates flew to Manhattan on Friday and took in the Wildcats football game against Miami on Saturday. They ate a few nice meals and got to know the K-State basketball team, too.

“It’s a great place,” Foster said Sunday via text message.

“It was a great experience,” added Carroll. “I loved it. I enjoyed how the sports are a big deal. They’re great people out here and the basketball program is just phenomenal.”

How will those visits impact their recruitment?

Foster, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard from Wichita Falls, Texas, says his timetable for making a commitment hasn’t changed. He has narrowed his college choices to K-State and Creighton, and has an official visit scheduled in Omaha next week. A final decision could come at any moment.

“I’m just gonna take it day by day,” he said.
