How they got here
The Golden Eagles won 25 games and finished second in Conference USA. They played their best during the middle of the season and won 16 of 17 to surge to the top of their league’s standings. The highlight victory during that stretch was a win over Memphis, but Southern Mississippi challenged itself all season. It played Murray State, Colorado State and Arizona State on the road before conference play began. It picked up quality wins against Colorado State, New Mexico State and South Florida.
