David Garrett has expanded his role on Kansas State’s football team this season. On top of playing cornerback, he covers and returns kicks with the Wildcats’ special teams unit.
He is off to a strong start in all three areas, which is impressive when you consider how much time he is spending on the field. He wants to be involved as much as he can.
So much so that shortly after he intercepted a pass near the sideline and returned it for a touchdown against Kent State, he turned down a request from Wildcats coach Bill Snyder to take a breather on the ensuing kickoff.
“He didn’t want any part of it,” Snyder said.
