Incoming Kansas State defensive end Adam Davis told the Charlton County Herald on Tuesday he injured his back while playing for Hutchinson Community College and is facing surgery.
Davis, a four-star recruit according to rivals.com, is the Wildcats’ highest rated JUCO transfer. Now his football career might be in jeopardy.
I have a slipped disk and pinched nerve and it got my whole left leg numb and it shoots pain from my back to my ankle. What they going to do is remove the disk and fuse it with a block or whatever they call it. I will recover but they don’t think football is the best option for me because how badly damaged my back is.
If Davis is able to recover and play football for K-State, he looks forward to fighting for playing time.
Kansas State is another level and I’m going to work hard like I always do and show up to compete for a spot on the roster.
If he can’t play football anymore, he said he would still like to finish out school, get a job and live in Kansas.
