As you could expect, Michael Beasley is dominating the conversation in K-State circles today.

Yahoo! Sports first reported yesterday that the former Kansas State star checked into a rehab facility, and ever since columnists everywhere have speculated on whether he would have been better off staying in Manhattan past his freshman year.

Bob Lutz of the Wichita Eagle had this to say about it.

Mike DeArmond had this insightful post on The Kansas City Star’s Campus Corner blog. He talks a little about his own experiences in the area. I suggest checking it out.

Over at the Topeka Capital-Journal, Kevin Haskin also wrote about the situation. You can read that here.

At the national level, ESPN’s J.A. Adande writes that a forced year of college for high school phenoms is not a magical cure for everything.

And for a sampling of opinions coming out of Florida on the topic, check out Yahoo! Sports Ball Don’t Lie blog.
