And I’m throwing my support behind Josh Freeman.
I kid.
But I was just notified that I’m receiving a vote, which is a bigger deal than I thought. Have to admit I’m leaning toward Michael Crabtree, but I’ll check out what happens Saturday night.
Some housekeeping – I didn’t write a “MORNING AFTER” following Nebraska because there was no point. I’ve shifted my focus to basketball – well, not until this coaching search is completed. Personal plea – I think you all should get out and support this basketball team. It’s going to be fun to follow, and I think you’ll be able to watch the growth from week to week.
How good is Jamar Samuels going to be? I’m writing about him – just a small story for the time being – for the advance of Wednesday’s game. He’s a funny dude.

I came to the game this weekend. We were terrible. Hope to make it to more, but it’s a three hour drive now. Doooooooooom!
ex. choice on highlighting j. samuels. great smile, great quotability. star potential.
your thoughts on herrera’s seating arrangements?
You are a basketball beacon of hope.
Talk Radio (810) said tonight that The Mercury reports that a search committee has been named. It includes Bill Snyder but he is not removed from consideration for the job. Why is the committee being names so late? What kind of nonsense are we watching? One gets no feel that there is much panic at KSU, no rushing around, no more rumors. I have rather been thinking that Patterson would be announced when the season ends. Now, who? If not Paterson and not Snyder (who would not be looked at as a long term solution) we are absolutely going to get clobbered in our recruiting. Then what? Back to 1970? What a mess.

- Samuels looks like he’s going to be a BEAST.
- I’m also very impressed with DK. The improvement he’s made in the past couple years is amazing. He’s now a legitimate center.
- Pullen has been struggling shooting, but that’ll turn around.
- Clemente is extremely fast.
- FBrown can light it up.
- Ron Anderson will be good. I like his skill set.
- Awaji will be good too I think. Guy can jump outta the building! (40″ vertical)
I’m not sure if we’ll be real good this year or not…but this is going to be a fun team to watch. And look out for ‘09-’10 and ‘10-’11…KSU could be REALLY good those years.
Apparently Herrera hasn’t passed Scott Greenawalt’s conditioning test. I don’t think he’s in the doghouse, but his size will be needed – did you see Blake Griffin last night? Good Lord. I think this team is going to be lots of fun, and if things break right, it could be a special season. I like DK’s aggressiveness. That’s huge for him because he’s got decent skills for a big, and he can shoot. Jake is going to be fine – he’ll work it out. The functional depth is so impressive. If the Wildcats can sustain 30-35 minutes of the defensive intensity they’ve shown in the first half of both of their games, they’re going to be extremely difficult to beat. Some of that might be the level of competition and K-State being bored, but that’s also why Frank exploded on them after the SEMO game. The Cleveland State is going to be a legitimate test – and I won’t be there, I’ll be covering RP’s last game.
harrell > crabtree
No. Freeman get your vote, b/c your stuck on how good this team would be with players. Well anyone can say well this team would be good if if if if if if if if…..this team is not any good. Lets not promote it.
