K-State Sports Network Announces Affiliates

From the Kansas State sports information department:

The Kansas State Sports Network will broadcast K-State football across 30-stations in Kansas for the 2008 season, Ben Boyle, general manager of K-State Sports Properties, announced today.

The stations provide state-wide coverage throughout central, northwest and western Kansas, further improving the exposure of K-State football across the Sunflower State. The daytime reach of the 30 stations stretches from Denver to St. Louis and from Des Moines to Oklahoma City.

Wyatt Thompson begins his seventh season as the Voice of the Wildcats, handling play-by-play duties for K-State football and men’s basketball. He will again be joined in the booth by former Wildcat quarterback Stan Weber, now in his 22nd season as the color analyst. Bruce Haertl, sports director for KWCH-TV in Wichita, will continue to host the network’s pregame show and Matt Walters, of KMAN-AM in Manhattan, will provide insight from the Wildcat sideline.

The K-State Sports Network will also carry the Ron Prince Show from 6 to 7 p.m. each Monday throughout the season at Manhattan Town Center beginning August 27.

The Wildcats open the 2008 season at 6:05 p.m. on August 30 when North Texas visits Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Pregame coverage of all Wildcat football games begins two hours prior to kickoff. Broadcasts of K-State games can also be heard on the internet at www.k-statesports.com.

The K-State Sports Network is operated by K-State Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports, which manages the multimedia rights for more than 35 collegiate institutions and associations throughout the country. Learfield is in its fourth year as the multimedia rightsholder at K-State.

    JMart…

Do you know if we’ll still be able to get free internet broadcasts over local carriers? The Yahoo broadcasts now require a subscription ($5/mo), as does the Sirius online broadcast, for both the games and the coaches show.

    Spasibo.

1070 is a joke. I was driving back to wichita during a game last year and did not get reception until Andover. But the stupid KU game was coming in just fine.
