Rivals.com’s Tom Dienhart reported Tuesday that Kansas State coach Ron Prince was set to receive a contract extension “soon.” ESPN.com’s Tim Griffin followed up with a similar mention in one of his Big 12 blog entries today.
We’ve heard this before. I’ve more or less written it before.
But just to be sure, I consulted with K-State sports information director Kenny Lannou, who issued this text-message/response:
“Nothing new… Will let you know when something is done…”

why renegotiate it now, is it simply for “looks” to outsiders (potential coaches and recruits)?
Not soon, my anterior region.
Prince does not deserve consideration until after the season–and ONLY if he produces:
a) A winning season and a mid-level bowl;
b) A win over KU; and
c) Avenge last year’s disgraceful performance at Nebraska.
And since what will happen will be d) None of the above, he needs to go… YESTERDAY.
Yeah, let’s get into the Baylor rhythm and fire a coach every 3 years, if it works for them it can work for us.
Pay the man, lock him up.
We should actually cut Ron’s salary and give the extra money to a new DCA DBO.
