According to Kansas State sports information director Kenny Lannou, junior running back Leon Patton remains indefinitely suspended. The key here is that Patton won’t be allowed to participate in fall camp, which officially begins Monday.
Junior linebacker John Houlik, who was arrested this morning on a DUI charge, is also serving an indefinite suspension. But Lannou didn’t mention Houlik not being able to practice, which likely means the Wichita native will do so.

Do you have a gut feeling on whether or not Patton will even be allowed to play this year? Obviously by missing fall camp it would take several weeks to get into playing shape – assuming RP even wants him in on the roster. You don’t suppose he is looking for an excuse to give Patton’s scholarship to someone else do you? It would be a shame not to be able to utilize his experience this year.
I say let him sit out. We need to start sending messages to these guys. I personally don’t want my alma mater to be known as a school full of thugs who get away with everything. It seems to me that things have been getting worse the past couple of years……or maybe it’s just that things have been getting out?
Still, Patton needs to learn a life lesson here.
life lesson? GMAFB.
you want your alma mater to be known as a sucky football school?
you can’t teach someone a lesson by turning your back on them and kicking them off the team. lawrence phillips is a great example, the guy was a stud at nebraska.
Everyone agree that houlik will probably miss the first two games?
Also, I know for a fact that John isn’t practicing with the team.
