For the ladies…

This is a very special edition of K-Stated. This is addressed specifically to the women out there who love Kansas State football. Actually, it’s for a select group of women out there who love Kansas State football so much so that they attended Ron Prince’s Football 101.

Yep, school is back in session. It’s Football 201, and I still haven’t decided if this is incredibly demeaning to women or a fine idea. I’ll let you decide.

Here’s the official release:

As an alumnus of the K-State women’s football program, you are invited to attend Football 201 for Women. We will be hosting the all-day event on August 16th, 2008 and look forward to your return. Women who have completed our Football 101 program are eligible for 201. Football 201 is unique in that it will change year to year covering various topics that occur behind the scenes of a football organization. Therefore, we encourage those who attended 201 last summer to attend as well.

A detailed schedule will follow but the day will include: observing a team practice, chalk-talk sessions with K-State coaches and staff, football break-down with Coach Prince, a social including food and beverages, a cash-only store with K-State paraphernalia for your convenience, and an exclusive Football 201 gift. Please plan on spending the majority of your day with us. The cost for the day is $67.52, which includes the online processing fee.

If you want to register – and you’ve already passed Football 101 – click here.

In other K-State news, former Wildcat receiver Jermaine Moreira was arrested early Saturday morning by Riley County Police at Rusty’s on a charge of failure to appear.

I guess just saying 69 bucks would have been a little to “over the top”

I just wanted to say that this football program that Coach Prince has set up for women (yes, I am a woman), is the farthest thing from demeaning! I attended Football 101 and the experience was amazing! I knew the basics, but we had the chance to interact with refs and coaches, got to walk out on the field, watch a practice, and even got to meet Jordy Nelson. We weren’t made to feel stupid. This was a class just like any other for people that are interested and want to actually learn something. I can’t say enough about how nice everybody was and what an amazing experience we had for such a small price. I can’t wait for Football 201!!
