That was just confirmed by D.C. Assault assistant coach Lou Wilson, who is the head coach at the Riverdale Baptist School in Upper Marlboro, Md.
“He’s not playing with us,” Wilson said.
Williams will play with the Brandon Bass All-Stars.
True fact: Wilson coached Michael Beasley for one year, 2004-05, when Beasley was being home-schooled. Riverdale Baptist lost one game that year, I believe.
This weekend, everyone will be keeping an eye on Wally Judge and Rodney McGruder, a couple of Kansas State commitments. And the die-hards are aware of Darryl Traynham, a 5-foot-9 point guard in the Class of 2010.
But Wilson said don’t sleep on one of his guys from Riverdale Baptist, Javon Farrell, a 6-foot-5 athletic wing.
“He’s a big guard,” Wilson said. “He’s sort of in the mold of Rodney, but he’s a little more athletic.”
And Rashard Whack, a 6-foot-2 guard from Bishop McNamara High in Forestville, Md., might turn some heads, Wilson said.
