Mart, to compare whitlock and jopo is like comparing a delorean to a mercedes that still runs perfectly. Jopo isn't trying to generate web hits (is he?) when that's all JW wants. Which is fine but they are 2 different writers all together. JW just wants to be heard, JOPO just wants to be read.

I think I am going to make some awards and hand them out. They will be much more prestigous and fancy than whatever an APSE looks like. Have you guys ever seen one of those 6 foot tall bowling trophies? Think that but bigger and with more platic gold paint. Really classy stuff. Plus, while the bowler will still be on the top, they will also have some sort of GI Joe or Transformer guy up there too... to represent marksmanship...which will be another factor in awarding the trophey.

Jason has won APSE awards for his columns for as long as I can remember, certainly as long as I've been in Kansas. Same for Joe Posnanski, who absolutely killed the contest this year. I think he won four awards, which is remarkable.

I'm not sure how K-State's "negative" fan base is relevant to a 3-game losing streak on the road. That article was Whitlock's pity party for himself.

J-Mart is not a columnist. He gives his opinion here and in his Q&A, but his articles in the Eagle are supposed to be news articles that contain no commentary. Whitlock is strictly a columnist that has some whacky opinions about a variety of things.

A lot of fans I talked to on Tuesday mentioned Monday's crowd. All I know is that the booing came across the television very badly and it made us, as a fan base, look like we know nothing about the game of basketball and made us look like a bunch of whiners.

That being said, calling the entire fan base a bunch of losers because of it was very unprofessional on Whitlock's part.

I wondered if some Cat fans would be uhhhhh, annoyed with Jason. I wasn't. I thought he made a point, not necessary exactly right on but a reasonable explanation for what's going down. I don't know sports the way some do because I never played competitively but it seems apparent that Mike is getting worn down at the end of a game. Hey, as wonderful as his conditioning is, he is still a kid. When I finished a first marathon in just under four hours, I couldn't stand or sit or walk and slept in a tub for several hours. Seven years later, after running six of them, I ran my best at 3:25 and was climbing a mountain two days later. Beasly will probably go at the end of the year but he will be a stronger basketball player if he plays another year in Manhattan.

Just as a point of reference, anyone know if Whitlock received any of these recognitions lately? I'm not gonna go off on the guy, I was as displeased as everyone. But it seems JMart is writing relevant, unbiased K-State articles while neither kissing up to fans nor bashing them, and receiving attention and recognition for it.

I just wanted to say it was lame for irony. That's kind of my thing. You take that (irony) away from me Jeff and I got nothing...nothing.

Can we get a "Feelin a Draft" on the combine turnout for Jordy and McKinney. Would greatly appreciate it since Jordy is the only good thing coming out of K-State football for at least 1 more year. THANKS!
